What's Inside the Light Tea Lovers Pack: Two Green and Two White Teas From One Ilam Farm
Last updated: October 2026
The Light Tea Lovers Pack is four full-size loose-leaf teas: two greens and two whites, 125g in total, all grown at 5,500 ft on Farmers Tea Co.'s certified organic farm in Malate, Ilam. It is built for low-caffeine drinking, and every tea in it is naturally free of bitterness. It is $46.47 CAD.
If you would rather taste before you commit to 125g, begin with the Tea Sampler Kit ($30 CAD): ten teas across all four of our farms in Ilam and Taplejung, 5,000–6,000 ft, every one naturally free of bitterness. Then come back to the Light Tea Lovers Pack once you know you are a green-and-white person.
What exactly is in the Light Tea Lovers Pack?
Four teas, all from the same farm:
- Organic Light Green Tea (50g): soft spring greens and a clean, cucumber-like freshness.
- Floral Green Tea (25g): jasmine-adjacent florals and fresh spring grass, with no added flowers.
- Fresh White Tea (25g): wildflower, morning dew, and a crisp, clean finish.
- Floral White Tea (25g): spring blossom, soft rose, and a velvety mouthfeel. It has the lowest caffeine in our range.
Each 25g bag makes roughly 10 to 12 cups, so the pack lasts well past the first week.
Why does it matter that all four teas come from Farmers Tea Co.?
Because it takes one variable out of the comparison. Farmers Tea Co. grows at 5,500 ft in Malate, Ilam, on a certified organic farm. Same hills, same growers, same weather. What changes from cup to cup is the processing, which is a clean way to learn what green and white tea actually are.
It also keeps the white teas honest: both of our white teas come from Farmers Tea Co. in Ilam and nowhere else.
Leaf type matters too. A study of five tea clones grown in Suryodaya Municipality, Ilam, found that tannin, flavonoid, and total phenolic content were each significantly higher in green tea than in black tea made from the same clone, which the authors attribute to what happens to those compounds during black tea fermentation (KC, Parajuli, Khatri & Shiwakoti, 2020). Those were different clones from Farmers Tea Co.'s bushes, but it is solid evidence from Ilam that skipping fermentation leaves more of the leaf's own chemistry intact.
How is white tea made, and how is green tea made?
White tea is the least handled tea there is. A 2025 review describes it as minimal processing built on two core steps, withering and drying, with the leaf's own polyphenol oxidase causing only a slight oxidation that leaves most components intact (Wijesekara, Liu & Xu, 2025). In one Fujian trial, leaves lost moisture from about 73% to about 35% over a 30-hour withering (Deng et al., 2022). That is a Chinese cultivar and schedule, not Farmers Tea Co.'s, but it shows how slow and gentle the process is.
Green tea adds one decisive step: fixation, a burst of heat that stops oxidation. A 2022 study of green tea made from the same cultivar and harvest found that steam and pan-firing give different cups. Steamed tea carried more green- and floral-smelling alcohols, while pan-fired tea carried more fruity, sweet-smelling esters, and caffeine did not differ significantly between the two (Li et al., 2022). We cite it to show that fixation method changes aroma. We are not claiming either method for our own greens.
Is the pack really low in caffeine, and does altitude help?
Per cup, our figures are roughly 20–30mg of caffeine for the green teas and 5–15mg for Fresh White Tea, against 80–100mg in a typical cup of coffee. Floral White Tea is the lowest in the range.
Altitude is often given as the reason these teas taste soft, and the science is more mixed than the marketing. A 2025 field trial on 50-year-old oolong trees at Fenghuang Mountain, China, found theanine fell as altitude rose, and the authors concluded that soil chemistry rather than altitude itself mainly regulated quality there (Ren et al., 2025). Other studies point the other way. We think the honest line is this: the soft, sweet cup in this pack is a result of place and processing together, and no single mountain number explains it.
| Tea | Type | Size | Flavor | Brew |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Organic Light Green Tea | Green | 50g | Soft spring greens, cucumber freshness | 75–80°C, 2 min |
| Floral Green Tea | Green | 25g | Jasmine-adjacent florals, spring grass | 75–80°C, 2–3 min |
| Fresh White Tea | White | 25g | Wildflower, morning dew, crisp finish | 75°C, 2 min |
| Floral White Tea | White | 25g | Spring blossom, soft rose, velvety | 75°C, 2–3 min |
Who should buy the Light Tea Lovers Pack?
It suits three kinds of drinker. People cutting caffeine without giving up the ritual. Evening tea drinkers, since the white teas are gentle enough for a cup before bed. And anyone who has tried green tea, found it bitter, and quietly written the whole category off. These teas will change your mind.
It also gifts well for someone who cares about organic, single-origin sourcing. Five percent of every purchase goes back to the farmer organic certification fund.

What should you reorder once you find a favorite?
If the whites win you over, the full-size Floral White Tea ($10 CAD for 25g, $45 CAD for 180g) is the softest, lowest-caffeine option we make. If the greens do, Organic Light Green Tea ($20 CAD for 50g) is the everyday pour.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is in the Light Tea Lovers Pack?
The Light Tea Lovers Pack holds four loose-leaf teas: Organic Light Green Tea (50g), Floral Green Tea (25g), Fresh White Tea (25g), and Floral White Tea (25g), 125g total. All four are grown at 5,500 ft on Farmers Tea Co.'s certified organic farm in Malate, Ilam, Nepal.
Is the Light Tea Lovers Pack good for low caffeine?
Yes. The green teas run roughly 20–30mg of caffeine per cup and Fresh White Tea roughly 5–15mg, compared with 80–100mg in a typical coffee. Floral White Tea is the lowest in the Nepal Hills range, which makes the pack easy to drink through the afternoon.
Are the teas in the pack bitter?
No. All four teas are naturally free of bitterness. Brew the greens at 75–80°C and the whites at 75°C for two to three minutes. Cooler water and short steeps keep the flavor soft, and these leaves forgive an extra minute better than most green teas do.
Are these teas certified organic?
All four come from Farmers Tea Co., a certified organic farm in Malate, Ilam. We say the teas are grown on a certified organic farm. Five percent of every purchase also goes toward helping other farmers complete their own organic certification.
Where does the white tea come from?
Both white teas in the pack, Fresh White Tea and Floral White Tea, come exclusively from Farmers Tea Co. in Malate, Ilam, grown at 5,500 ft. White tea is minimally processed: the leaf is withered and dried, which keeps its flavor delicate and its caffeine gentle.
Should I try the Tea Sampler Kit first?
If you are unsure about green and white tea, yes. The Tea Sampler Kit gives you ten 5g teas across all four types and four farms for $30 CAD. Once you know green and white are your style, the Light Tea Lovers Pack is the logical full-size step up.
