Description

Floral Green Tea is a naturally aromatic single-origin green tea from Ilam, Nepal — grown at 5,500 ft above sea level on Farmers Tea Co.'s certified organic farm. Jasmine-adjacent florals, fresh spring grass, and a light natural sweetness. No added flowers, no bitterness — just the plant doing what altitude lets it do.

The Story of Floral Green Tea

There are no flowers added to this tea. The floral character — the jasmine-like lift, the freshness that opens the cup — comes entirely from the tea leaf itself, shaped by the growing conditions at 5,500 ft in Ilam. When green tea is grown slowly at high altitude on healthy organic soil, the plant accumulates aromatic compounds naturally. No blending, no scenting, no tricks.

Farmers Tea Co., led by Dil Kumar Rai and a team of youth artisans, has been building these conditions year after year. This is one of the most approachable teas in the Nepal Hills range — light enough for people who have never liked green tea, interesting enough for those who drink it daily. If you have avoided green tea because of bitterness, this is the one that will change your mind.

Why Floral Green Tea Is Different

  • Approachable for green tea beginners and satisfying for experienced drinkers
  • Single-origin from Farmers Tea Co. — every gram grown, processed, and shipped from one farm in Ilam, Nepal

Questions, answered

What makes this green tea "floral"? Are flowers added?

No flowers are added. Floral Green Tea's floral character is 100% natural — it develops in the tea leaf itself during the growing process at Farmers Tea Co., Ilam. The specific altitude, soil, and microclimate produce leaves with natural jasmine-adjacent florals. This is different from jasmine-scented teas, which are blended with flower petals. Every floral note in this cup is coming directly from the tea plant.

Is Floral Green Tea bitter?

No — and this is the tea that converts people who swear they hate green tea. The natural florals soften the flavor profile and the high-altitude growing (5,500 ft, Ilam) means minimal tannins. Brew at 75–80°C for 2–3 minutes. The combination of floral sweetness and zero bitterness is genuinely surprising to most first-time drinkers who have only tried supermarket green tea bags.

How does Floral Green Tea compare to jasmine green tea?

Jasmine green tea gets its flavor from steeping tea with jasmine blossoms — it's a blended product. Floral Green Tea's aroma comes entirely from the tea plant itself, shaped by the unique terroir of Farmers Tea Co. at high altitude in Ilam, Nepal. The flavor is naturally floral and lighter than jasmine tea, with a cleaner finish and no added ingredients — just pure, high-altitude Himalayan green tea.

How much caffeine does Floral Green Tea have?

Floral Green Tea contains approximately 20–30 mg of caffeine per 8 oz cup — among the lowest in the Nepal Hills range. The high-altitude growing conditions at Farmers Tea Co. also produce elevated L-theanine, creating calm focus without jitters. This is a good afternoon or early-evening tea for people monitoring their caffeine intake or transitioning from coffee.

Is Floral Green Tea organic?

Yes. Floral Green Tea is sourced from Farmers Tea Co. in Ilam, Nepal, which holds certified organic certification. It is grown on a certified organic farm with no synthetic pesticides or chemicals — an important distinction because many commercial green teas carry pesticide residues. The clean, naturally floral character of this tea is partly a product of organic growing: the plant's full aromatic potential expresses itself without chemical interference.
